Recent Improvements
Addition
of two Post-Panamax gantry cranes to the Packer Avenue Marine
Terminal
Access to more reefer plugs
Expansion
projects will provide 200,000 square feet of dedicated paper warehousing
- doubling the capacity of container facilities at the Port

additional 2,500 feet of docking space
Improvements
to infrastructure and security have resulted in the Port
of Philadelphia being designated as a Strategic Military Port,
one of the few selected U.S. ports chosen to handle our nation’s
military cargoes destined for hotspots around the globe
Channel-deepening
initiative to increase navigable depth in the Delaware River from
40 feet to 45 feet
Future Projects
Plans are in place to expand both North and South
of the current Packer Avenue Marine Terminal. The developments
of these ports will more than triple the Port of Philadelphia's
total capacity of container facilities.
